Email Header - The Ladder

Dear Wall Climber,

At FBSG, we're dedicated to keeping you up to date about technology relevant for your business as well as providing helpful hints and tips to help you get the most out of your Sage MAS 90 and MAS 200 software. In this issue of The Ladder, we wanted to remind you the PCI-DSS compliance deadline is approaching.  If you haven't updated your system, now is the time.  In addition, we also spotlite a creative solution for streamlining the production entry process in the MAS 90 Bill of Materials Module.  And, lastly, we provide a tip from our MAS90 Toolbox that helps you display PDFs in Paperless Office.  If there is any topic you would like us to address, let us know and we'll be sure to include it in our newsletter. Have a great week!

Reminder - Update for PCI-DSSCredit Lock compliance by July 1st

For those of you processing credit cards, this is important information. To satisfy the requirements of PCI, a merchant must complete the following steps:

  • Identify your Validation Type as defined by PCI DSS. This is used to determine which Self Assessment Questionnaire is appropriate for your business.
  • Complete the Self-Assessment Questionnaire according to the instructions in the Self- Assessment Questionnaire Instructions and Guidelines.
  • Complete and obtain evidence of a passing vulnerability scan with a PCI SSC Approved Scanning Vendor (ASV). Note scanning does not apply to all merchants.  It is required for Validation Type 4 and 5 - those merchants with external facing IP addresses.  Basically if you electronically store cardholder information or if your processing systems have any internet connectivity, a quarterly scan by an approved scanning vendor is required.
  • Complete the relevant Attestation of Compliance in its entirety (located in the SAQ tool).
  • Submit the SAQ, evidence of a passing scan (if applicable), and the Attestation of Compliance, along with any other requested documentation, to your acquirer.

Auto Generate

Production Entries

The Auto Generate Production Entries enhancement streamlines and automates the process of making production entries each time a receipt of goods entry is processed.  Many organizations will process production entries for finished goods immediately upon receipt of specific component items.  This enhancement automates that process to eliminate manual and duplicate processes.

MAS 90 Tips & Tricks

Paperless Office allows MAS 90 to save most forms, Invoices, and Registers as PDF files. All users should be able to see the PDFs files created by other users. However, there might be times when some users will not be able to see anyone else's PDF file but their own. This is due to the role settings for that user's role.  To ensure that all users are able to see all the PDFs created by other users:

  1. Navigate to Modules->Library Master->Main->RoleTools Maintenance
  2. Select the role of the user(s)
  3. Click on tab 2. Security Events
  4. Locate the option for Paperless Office
  5. Ensure that the check box next to "Allow Viewing...for All Users" is checked
    1. The roles can be updated to allow the viewing of all PDFs for Customer PDF, Employee PDF, Journal and Register PDF, Period End Report PDF, Report PDF, and Vendor PDF
