Thanks for your input Azher. Looking forward to hearing about your Sugar experience, when you do get the opportunity to put it through its paces. I totally agree that in this day and age and with all of the technology and tools available to us consumer internet start-up can go quite the distance.

Great analysis but has some outdated information already (Jan 25 2012). Sales intellegence is uppgraded via SFDC. I have experience in both CRM databases and even though sugar sounds better, Salesforce is not as “antiquated” as described above. I think that Sugar is a great tools for SMBs whereas SFDC is top notch for large enterprises.













Shankar, re SugarCRM – so far so good. We just urpagded to Sugar 4.5. But given our small sales operations at this time, I can’t say that we have put it through its paces.Your comment about startups needing VC money is true in enterprise technology, but a consumer internet startup can go quite a distance just sipping capital.
