A man buried in rubble in Haiti used his iPhone to survive. If this story is true, it’s one of the all-time best uses of technology. And I thought the Flashlight app was great…. Check this out:

This is a good antidote to the depressing 911 call I heard yesterday from a man whose car had plunged into a pond and trapped him. Alas, he didn’t know where he was and by the time the police found him he had drowned. The iPhone needs an app for shattering open car windows….
